Vu Hong Nguyen and his constant search

Vu Hong Nguyen belongs to the 4th generation of painters, the ones who live in an open artistic environment which favours every artist’s search for self–assertion. It creates very good conditions for the promotion of talent but also compels an artist to pay a heavy price should he sell himself to the market.

Nguyen is by nature modest and a bit retiring yet his pictures reveal his firm determination and self–confidence.

Starting from a realistic view rich in inner feelings and hidden intentions, Vu Hong Nguyen gradually shifts, discovers his personality and indulges himself in abstract art.

His abstract paintings at present wake up our senses more visually than mentally. Colourful combinations of blue and black, red and white or all the tones and colours combined make up his flexible and dynamic style in which the most vivid impression is created by the artist’s competent technique and the media’s attractiveness.

Self–evident are Nguyen’s passion for art and his praiseworthy effort to find himself an orientation and shape an artistic language of his own. For he is fully aware that of paramount importance is the personal imprint of an artist and this could only be found in each artist’s own temperament and personal view. That is precisely what Nguyen is looking for.

Thus I have a foreboding that artist Vu Hong Nguyen may have successes in his constant search.
