ENCROACHMENT
I am a true believer that no painting can compare to the timeless beauty of Nature. Some of these “paintings” were created centuries ago, while others are changing every day, every hour, and sometimes even every other minute, pale as smoke and slow as those drifting clouds covering the sky or spreading their shadows on the earth. What Nature has to offer is an endless suggestion full of emotions. For me, Encroachment is just as light as a breath into nothingness.
Natural Encroachment is as simple as mosses and tussocks spreading out into vast forests, or a meandering river flowing indeterminately to an unknown destination. When looking down from high above, small trails full of footprints create guiding paths… Like seasons that come and go, Encroachment sometimes may just take the form of a tiny headland emerging and moving day after day before quickly disappearing due to the boundless vitality of floral plants.
Encroachment is like moonlight spilling in through the latch of the door, bright and blurred, warm and cold. When I paint encroachment, I find an endless flow of the natural world, and I aspire to retain the serenity of the day…
